Medicare Rebates for Psychology Services

If you are attending under a GP Mental Health Care Plan referral, you are eligible for up to 10 Medicare Rebated session per calendar year (January to December). The Medicare rebate amount for the above sessions is currently $149.05. Leaving an out of pocket cost for you for a standard 50-60min session of $100.95.

If you have reached your Extended Medicare Safety Net Threshold, your rebate will increase to $229.05 for a 50-60min session for the remainder of the calendar year, reimbursing you for the majority of the cost of the session and leaving an out of pocket cost of $20.19.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you wish to claim a rebate through Medicare, you will need a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.
